Job Description

We are looking for a Qualified Pest Control Operator who takes pride in their craft and understands that pest management is both a science and a responsibility.

Job Summary

The Pest Control Operator is responsible for effective pest control services to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant environment for clients. The role includes inspection, treatment, reporting, and preventative maintenance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid P-Number (registered with the Department of Agriculture) and have worked in the industry for at least 1 – 3 years.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 8/EB) and have been driving for at least 3 years.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Someone who is passionate about Pest Control.
  • Experience in general pest control treatments.
  • Experience in termite inspections and soil treatments (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards (advantageous).
  • Professional appearance and good communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow label instructions precisely.
  • The candidate must be self disciplined and have the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Speaking and writing/typing in English and Afrikaans.
  • Accountability and reliability.
  • Respect for safety and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team, and represent the brand professionally.
  • A growth mindset

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work to company standards.
  • Ensuring sites files are maintained and updated where needed.
  • Completing daily treatment reports to submit to the office and maintaining paper flow.
  • Apply and implement all safety standards for pest control.
  • Taking care of company vehicle and equipment.
  • Apply and implement all safety standards for pest control.
  • Inspect premises for pest activity (rodents, cockroaches, ants, flies, etc.).
  • Implement pest control treatments (chemical & non-chemical).
  • Install and monitor bait stations and traps.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Advise clients on preventative measures and hygiene practices.
  • Packing out chemicals for jobs done and preparing for the next day.
  • Going through the jobs for the current day with the Admin Office and explaining what needs to be done for next appointment.
  • Maintain equipment and chemical stock control.
  • Must be able to schedule jobs and know how long different treatments will take to do.
  • Understanding of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
