Job Summary

The Pest Control Operator is responsible for effective pest control services to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant environment for clients. The role includes inspection, treatment, reporting, and preventative maintenance.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid P-Number (registered with the Department of Agriculture) and have worked in the industry for at least 1 – 3 years.
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8/EB) and have been driving for at least 3 years.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Someone who is passionate about Pest Control.
• Experience in general pest control treatments.
• Experience in termite inspections and soil treatments (advantageous).

• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards (advantageous).

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Completing daily treatment reports to submit to the office and maintaining paper flow.
• Apply and implement all safety standards for pest control.
• Taking care of company vehicle and equipment.

The Maintenance & Pest Control Technician is responsible for carrying out general maintenance tasks and providing effective pest control services to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant environment for clients. The role includes inspection, treatment, reporting, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

🔧 Maintenance Duties

• Perform general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, minor repairs)
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance issues
• Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns
• Repair fixtures, fittings, and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards

• Inspect premises for pest activity (rodents, cockroaches, ants, flies, etc.)
• Implement pest control treatments (chemical & non-chemical)

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 10 / Matric
• Pest Control Operator certification (registered with Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries or relevant authority)
• Previous experience in maintenance and/or pest control

• Valid driver’s license (preferred)

The position would be as an Operations Manager. It would involve the following duties:

– Quoting (in person as well as over the phone)

– Carrying out small jobs which the technicians are too busy to do, for pests such as cockroaches and rodents

– Going through the jobs from the previous day with the technicians and General Manager

– Packing out chemicals for the technicians for the current day

– Going through the jobs for the current day with the technicians and explaining what needs to be done

– Stock take

– Must be able to schedule jobs and know how long different treatments will take to do

– Assist with basic office administration and preparing of job cards

– Carrying out of site audits

The manager would need to be proficient in:

– Speaking and writing/typing in English and Afrikaans

– Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel

– Must have a certificate in Structural pest control, and ideally also Termite and wood destroying organisms & HACCP

Ideally, I would like the the Manager to have a basic understanding of:

– Basic vehicle repairs and maintenance

– Maintenance and repair of pest control equipment

– Basic understanding of electrical components and wiring

Other considerations:

– Should live in Pretoria or Centurion

– Be able to work every second Saturday morning

– Have their own reliable vehicle in case a work bakkie needs to go in for repairs

Full training in bird control methods and systems will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural pest control treatments for common pests such as cockroaches, ants, rodents, fleas, bed bugs, termites, and other household and commercial pests
• Conduct thorough inspections, identify pest issues, and apply approved chemical and non-chemical treatment methods
• Carry out bird control services (full training will be given), including installation of bird spikes, netting, wire systems, and other humane deterrents
• Clean and manage bird droppings and nesting sites where required
• Use our digital software to complete job cards, service reports, and invoicing on-site
• Provide excellent customer service, explain treatments to clients, and offer prevention advice
• Maintain accurate records of all treatments and follow-ups
• Keep company vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience in structural pest control (1–2 years preferred, but not essential if you are willing to learn)
• Valid South African driver’s license with a clean driving record (Code 08 / EB essential)
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in various outdoor conditions
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-friendly attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Willingness to undergo training in bird control techniques
• Must be comfortable using basic digital software for job cards and invoicing (training provided)
